This RYA Competent Crew practical course has been designed to take complete beginners to a level at which you can enjoy and be confident as crew on a cruising yacht. It’s the perfect introduction to yachting with informative instruction to enable you to become a competent crew member.
During the day you will learn the ropes and enjoy a hands on yachting experience in the superb cruising area in and around the Bay of Gibraltar. As part of your course your Instructor will devise an itinerary with 3-4 overnights, beyond Gibraltar, in ports along the Spanish and Moroccan coast’s (subject to variables including favourable wind directions).

Running 1600 Sunday – 1600 Sunday, the 14-night Day Skipper Express course starts with Competent Crew then moves straight into Day Skipper Theory in the classroom and the 5-day Day Skipper Practical. On successful completion you’ll achieve the Day Skipper certificate which is accepted by many leading yacht charter holiday companies.
