As far as feedback goes, I can honestly say we had an amazing week! Ian was so friendly and put us all at ease – he felt like one of the family by the end of the week! I have wanted to learn to sail for years but never felt brave enough to take the plunge, however, after going with my family to do the competent crew, I now feel confident enough to come by myself next time to take my day skipper course. The marina felt a very safe place as did Gibraltar. I met several people who were doing other sailing courses with Allabroad and got a lovely impression of new friendships being made. It’s so funny but I don’t have many pictures of us on the yacht as we were too busy taking it all in but I’ve attached some of us having fun at Ocean village!

Family holiday charter weeks have long been popular here at Allabroad, but what sets our new ‘Stay, Sail and Explore’ weeks apart is that they are 7 nights (Sat-Sat or Sun-Sun) rather than the typical 5 night duration of an RYA course. This means that if you do want to complete an RYA sailing course during your stay, you have more time to do so and the pressure is off.
If you want to learn the ropes then a course can be tailored around your family – there’s no pressure to get a certificate although we find a lot of guests do want to.
However, if your focus is just to chill out, explore Gibraltar and have a couple of days anchored off a beach…taking a refreshing leap into our beautiful Mediterranean water to cool off before lunch… then you can choose to do exactly that! Here’s an idea of how you could spend a week chilling out
